Look, trace, then do it alone Every page follows the same gradual release. The student looks at the letter with numbered arrows showing stroke order, writes inside the big outline, traces the dotted version twice, then writes it on a blank line with no help at all. Tap Show Me A Letter and any letter animates its stroke order, with the sound it makes. Your student can get unstuck without waiting for you. When they tap Check My Work, Primer looks at what they actually wrote and tells you what it sees: which letters are formed well, which ones reverse or drift below the line, how spacing and sizing are holding up.
